This is the Carlsberg motto. Its just after the four Carlsberg elephants. Im not going to translate the Carlsberg motto, but in short it says something like "Without looking at at mere profit, always strive to produce at a high quality - setting an example for others to follow".

My dad worked at Carlsberg for over 30 years, so i have been out there many times. Even spent a couple of years at Carlsberg kindergarten.

Another very nice photo. So much craftsmanship went into the making of that building. You captured it well. :)

"Carlsberg don't do gates, but if we did it would probably be the best gates in the world" :)
This is a great photo, Bo! The perspective and short focal length is perfect, giving it a very interesting view, and your processing brings out all details as usual. I also like that it's monochrome. This is one of your best pictures so far, according to me!

Interesting structure. I can visualise an imaginary giant Carlsberg can in each of the tunnels hehe.. That's it I'm off. Carlsberg calls!

I like the arrow pointing to the arch where the people are - terrific composition. The arch itself is very impressive - because of the shape it does remind one of a barrel.

I agree with everyone on the thoughtful composition and details. I also like the two people you captured--gives the eye a place to rest. Very nice capture.

this is a beautiful image made even more appealing by the family story that goes with it. funny the meaning that father's places of work hold for children. i have fond memories of meeting my dad after work at some of the older buildings he worked.

don on May 6, 2008 17:25

This has a compelling symmetry. I like the beautiful color and the general treatment which makes the shot very appealing. Fine work.

Jim on May 7, 2008 03:33

Just fantastic use of black & white. It really lets you see the detail of the building. And the two people on the right give it the perfect balance.
