I remember playing International Karate on my Commodore 64 for several hours each day, only stopping when my dad wanted to see the news. We only had one TV when i was a kid, so we had to share. I was always the figure wearing the white dōgi.
I practiced Kyokushinkai Karate from when i was around 8-9 years old and until i was 11. Many years later i took it up again, but because of back problems i had to stop. I miss it. This shot is from the company where i work, i guess it was international play day - today.
The founder of Kyokushinkai Karate, Masutatsu Ōyama died at the age of 70, on April 26, 1994, of lung cancer, as a non-smoker.

I have always dreamed of karate fighting in front of Mt. Fuji.

Haha bring back memories. I also played karate but on nintendo. Those were the good days huh...
Weee, nostalgic memories! I loved that game!
I remember very well the Commodore 64 and 128. Nice clean shot, like the monochrome look except for the screen.
Nice view through the windows. Right on the water.
This brings back great memories of the good old days, where the computer games where simple, and the computer looked like a bread bin! ;-)
Great shot!
Yes.. I certainly remember those days.. I played this game for hours and hours...
Nice office location by the way.
I remember playing Pong on the TV. :/
Great shot Bo, and a very interesting article. :)
Commodore 64! Time is running out so fast...
By the way, the restaurant at your company looks to be located in a very beautiful place.
My son and I played on his PlayStation, I love the karate scene and the guy who is saying 'half point' this is a great image, your restaurant is in a great surrounding...do you work for a Japanese company?? I am sorry to hear about you not able to be part of the karate sport any more, it is a great sport, I did judo and jiu-jitsu for many years.
you work in the coolest places
Very nice symmetrical shot. You have a superb view from where you work!
I've lost my entire Memorial Day trying to research and find a Commodore 64 for myself :)
Nice symmetrical compo. Commodore 64 is not the latest one ! A friend of mine had one, but at this time I had not realized that computers would cjhange our lifes, and I was not much interested in this machine.
Brings back memories! I used to have a C64 as well and played this game a ton!
omg this reminds me of when i used to play karateka on my apple II when i was a kid!
Commodore 64! Wow! Sooo nostalgic! Love the light here. Nice shot!
Ah the Commodores. I remember creating my own silly games on them.. using sprites and what nots. Those were the days!
Ah, good old times... thank you for sharing this, like to travel back in time this way ;)
Commodore 64 means a nostalgic meaning for me! Thanks for the memories!
:) I remember clearly.... :)
:) I remember clearly... :)
That looks like fun.
Wow, this brings back the memories. The Commodore 64 was way ahead of its time.
I love the colors--and karate memories. I trained with shotokan for a while. Good times good times.
Reminds of the Atari 2600 days that I shared with my cousins. Those were fun times.
Nostalgic Memories
Hmmm I don't remember this game for C64... Bruce Lee, Ghost Busters and Impossible Mission were my favorites!
Regards,
Jason
Uh yes Impossible Mission by Epyx, one of my favorite games - "Stay a while, stay ... forever!" :)
nice image with a lot of memories - I like the symmetry in this image
You impression by the way you manage lighting. Very good
Oh, I remember that one! I had no C64 but a friend had one and we always went home to him and played... I believe "1942" was my favorite game :)
/Jonas
The C64 was awesome! I remember a game having to do with Bruce Lee. The image of the screen came out great!
i wonder what Defender would look like on this!
Definitely brings out memories of spending long days with my friends, hammering the hell out of the C64. I used to love this game (and so many others). I may have to get a C64 emulator and revisit a few. For old times sake.:) (Thanks for the reminder).
