This fountain is located at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. Its created by Paul Manship in 1934. It is suppose to associates the forceful energy of natural elements with business enterprise. I didn't feel that when i saw it.

I simply saw a beautiful and colorful fountain. Everything was closed and i couldn't get any closer. There's a restaurant where you can eat expensive food and enjoy the fountain as a backdrop.

There's a person in the top left of the picture, that i think shows the scale of the fountain and the big statue.

I agree with you; I just see a very beautiful statue. I also, in this case, see a very beautiful photo. Great shot! I work one block away and I think this is the best photo of that scene I have seen. Cheers.

Thanks all. Sorry i haven’t been more online lately, but i upgraded my mac to leopard - only find out a lot of things didn’t work. Shortcuts i photoshop and lots of different stuff in protools didn’t work either. So i had to do a fresh install of Tiger again, but now im back :)

I really like this, very very nice.

Radel on May 19, 2008 09:04

That is a beautiful structure indeed. You know, those things at the bottom look like nuns worshipping the fountain hehe. Like the color of water.

Oeilonirique on May 19, 2008 10:14

I like the fluorescent color of the water. Whatever human associates to the elements, it is supposed to help or just to open one’s mind to inner forces.

Bo on May 19, 2008 11:29

@Radel: You’re right - didn’t even think about that!

Interesting shot and perfect lights.

The tones are really beautiful. And, you’re right, Bo, the person on the left helps for understanding how big is the statue. Nice composition!

I particularly like the top portion of the image. The windows and flags are quite beautiful. I’ve never been to NYC so it’s nice to see a portion of it in your work.

wonderful vibrant colors!

Martin on May 19, 2008 19:18

Good work with the tones! It really looks like something from the 30s and that’s not just because of the design of the fountain.

Love this night picture, I have seen this in real and you did a great job here, it is a landmark in New York!!

What a beautiful night shot. I like the vibrant colours. Very nice having given us a scale idea. This is a huge place!

I really like your dreamy colors here.

Andy on May 20, 2008 01:03

Nice nighttime shot. The black cloth covered things in front of the statue almost look like some sort of spooky sightseers!

Amy on May 20, 2008 02:01

The colors came out great in this one!

Clean composition and great night exposure—would have been cool to see the full flags on the top, awesome!

Wonderful night shot. I’ve been to New York several times but haven’t been to this spot in the evening. Nice glow all around.

michele on May 20, 2008 19:16

agree with you as well - the fountain doesn’t say anything to me about business. but your photo is beautiful. also thought the same as Radel that the black things look like nuns.

Very good night photo of nice place

Tom Sheehan on May 20, 2008 22:27

Great capture here Bo. This is the best night photo I’ve seen of the center. :) I can’t believe how crowded it get’s here at Rockafeller Center.

jo on May 21, 2008 02:09

A force of colour, this one. Business and nature…..that’s a difficult one to combine or even represent, but congrats to the sculptor for giving it a go!

Mirco on May 21, 2008 08:17

Great colors and subject, great night exposure
