I think those big neon signs is so 1960, or there about. This one is located outside the NBC studios at Manhattan, New York. I had about 60 seconds to set up my tripod, frame and shoot - before, literally, a ton of people rushed by. Only had time to do 5 shots and i would have like more. For my taste there is not enough detail in the highlights. I think you can go on a tour inside the NBC studios, but i'm not sure. Anyways we didn't...
Camera: Nikon D200
Focal length: 27mm
Aperture: f/8

There is some kind of hypnotic and tunnel effect (mostly created by your composition and the tones..) that I really enjoy in your image - really a great work !
I really like this shot. I like how it is sort of desaturated and the neon seems to glow.
sold. sold. sold! i've been watching you do these for a while now and i'm sold with this one. i want to learn how to do this kind of post processing. :) wow - you were fast with that tripod.
There is a very nice symmetry in this image.. Wonderful shot!
Nice "graphic" effect
The art deco awning really says New York to me.
I like the white sky. It divides the street into two in the same way as the reflections in the window do for the sign.
This is so nice! I love the tones in it.
Great shot. Colors and the tones is what I loved most. I second Michele. You need to write a process description for us :D
60 seconds, I can't believe it :))
The result is just great. Love the neat details and the grey mood enhanced by some orange and blue signs.
Great job Bo, i like the reflections on the windows!!
You have some really nice urban shots on your blog !
i really like your composition and the dynamic of your shots. Thanks for coming to my blog and making me discover yours :-)
I think the highlights are perfect. And you're right about this being a 1960s image. I felt a bit of nostalgia the moment I saw this.
The reflections are fantastic, as is the composition. This one has a unique mood to it.
I think you nailed this one. The highlights are fine. This image pulls you right in, feels like I'm standing right there on the sidewalk. Exceptional processing as usual.
Great shot! Le traitement colle parfaitement à l'image. J'aime beaucoup! Bravo!
magnificent. love the desaturation.
Very nice. Great tones and excellent detail!
I agree w/others that this is an appealing desaturated shot. Clean composition and great sharpness too.
WOW is what i have to say about this photo, it is grand. I like the choice of colors and the use of selective colors. Nice composition.
I love your photos, the tone and processing of these nyc images are great.
it's such a great city - and i'm watching a lot of sex and the city and the min which is making me want to be back there even more!
I will be going through your archives over the weekend!
nicely done! you gave it a classic feel!
The tones are really interesting here. Is this selective color or part of the HDR process? Either way, it works quite well!
Thanks all.
The tone mapping is done with a low color saturation and then i adjusted the colors in LAB mode in photoshop.
Looks like a SciFi film scenery, nice atmosphere
You capture the feel of New York so well Bo. Very nice work. :)
You are faster than the wind, you are really good, love the reflections, very well spotted, great tones, love the street scene.
Great processing ... I like the colors.
This is great. Your post-processing is fantastic. Love the reflections...and it just feels so much like NYC!
Nice image.
Very nice! I love the details in this. Beautifully done.
This is gorgeous. Beautiful old structure and your processing is absolutely wonderful. Definitely a favorite.
This is an excellent image - completely worthy of the many comments and praise you are receiving. A fabulous study - well seen.
Wow, you surprise me again every time! How did you do so many exposures in that little time so that the moving people did not get blurry?
Incredible tones and mood! Love this shot!!
Great shot, love the composition and the tones in this one.. of course, the post processing is great, I'm thinking to experiment a little with hdr me too.. so I'm going to read your tutorial ;)
The colors in this one are just great!
I LOVE THIS! Great timing and processing.
