Times Square In Manhattan, New York
This was our last evening in Manhattan, New York. Last chance to photograph Times Square and of course, it had to rain. Still i had to shoot it, there where no tomorrow. I decided to do the processing a la Trey Ratcliff, from stuckincustoms.com. Here's one of his shots from Times Square: Not Lost in New York. After doing the processing and seeing the final result i realized...i was just being yet another copycat. Threw it out and did it my style. For you who haven't been to Time Square: its a major intersection in Manhattan at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets and its always full of life.

Well, it may not have been what you were hoping for, but I think it turned out great. I like your composition better than your inspiration's - you did a great job capturing the night life.
The umbrella groupings of people are wonderful as is the vivid night time scene.
Well done! I think the rain adds to the shot as it makes it more unique. I like the blured taxi cab as it rushes past the people holding umbrellas.

Like Andy, I think the rain gives a special mood. People with black umbrellas, for instance, match here very well.
The rain, people, and motion blur make this image of such a frequently photographed setting more interesting than the other images I've seen. You've captured the feel of the place without resorting to overdone processing as in the style you say you almost copied. Love the compo/framing.

Yes i recommend visiting New York. Its an amazing city. I simply loved every single moment i spend there.
