On fifth Avenue the Apple Retail Shop is located and i visited that a couple of times while being in New York. Many things about this shop went wrong. I didn't have my tripod that day. My memory card was almost full.
I balanced my camera one the back of a small truck and took the three shots my memory card would hold. Didn't know what to do with the shots, but then a friend from dvdtown.com said: "can you make a fake miniature shot?".
My friend is more of an Apple junkie, than an Apple addict - so i finally found a use for my three shots.
Camera: Nikon D200
Focal length: 50mm
Aperture: f/5.6
Exposures: 3
Hats off!!! Amazingly captivating image..great technique…Fifth Ave is always a treat in many ways, love that part of Manhattan. Wonderful shot !!!
Very nice dof and good work with exposures and moving objects!
I’m amazed … I thought it was a picture of a miniature when I saw it. I’ve learned something today … thanks
Excellent composition, like the dreamy effect and the amazing number of people. Looks like they had the street blocked off for some reason. Great shot of Fifth Ave.
The effect is well done and it made the image extraordinary. I like the tones otherwise. Regards.
with John - the number of people is astonishing to me and i like the dreamy effect especially with the buildings.
j’aime le cadrage et les couleurs moins le flou post-traitement
Nice research on DOF, The framing and the colours are very fine too. A good picture, I like it !
Love every thing about this picture. The shop, location, the city and of cause the picture itself. Hope to see more of these “fake miniature shot” in the future. :)
Love this shot. I’ve been wanting to try a fake tilt-shift since I’m too broke to buy a T/S lens. :-) This is nicely done.
Shooting with a T/S lens is so much fun, but i agree they are way to expensive :)
they look like toys !
Hey Bo
… it looks just like a miniature scene, take a look at this … http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2008/10/10/tilt-shift-time-lapse-videos-by-keith-loutit/
Beautiful work, mate. I was going to say, “Hey, this almost looks like a miniature shot.” Then I read your description and low and behold, it is a fake miniature shot. Wonderful stuff. Bookmarked for sure.
Very nice effect, I’ve read about this technique very recently, and I find it interesting. It seems to be the hot topic for 2009! :-)
