I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my wife and son.

I got my first camera when i was around 10-12 years old. It didn't have a light meter, so it took me a long time figuring out how it worked. Not that the light meter would have helped me, but it would have saved some exposures later on.

Being without a light meter makes you learn how to "read" light. I can still hear clerk in the photography shop saying: "On a sunny day - f/16 and set the shutter speed to the asa (iso) of your film."

Going through my teenager years i kind of lost interest in photography. Looking back - i wish i had not.

Many years later my son arrives and i am thinking, got to get a camera and take some pictures of him. Later that year my wife bought me a Nikon F80 for Christmas. I have been using it ever since and this time the camera did have a light meter. Is that just a marvelous invention or what?! :)
